Christine (Founder) saw a need in her community in 2012. There were 2 foodbanks operating, 20 minutes north and 40 minutes south of Morisset but there was no public transport to either.
We started out in a tiny little room and stayed there for 12 months, we then moved on to a change room on a sports field for 18 months. Till we finally found our forever home at the rear of Cooranbong Community Centre.
10 years later in 2022 we have two walk in food shops in Cooranbong and Lake Munmorah, we also home delivery every Wednesday from Fennells Bay to Wyong and out to Gwandalan.
It takes a team of thirty-five volunteers to keep the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie fed each week and 90% of those volunteers started out as our customers.
During Covid’s two lockdowns we home delivered our free food hampers to 26,000 people. We still do not know how we did it!
Everyone here at Southlake’s Inc believe no one should go hungry in Australia.

Partners of Dress for Success
We are a referral agency for pack and send. This is our way of supporting women in need of clothing for important life events.
Our School Welfare Program
We currently assist 5 schools every week with a bag of non-perishables, fresh produce, and bread.Support four School Breakfast Clubs by providing cereal, milk, bread and oranges across Lake Macquarie and Central Coast.
Christmas Hamper Support
Our favourite time of the year. We get to give out hampers and toys for FREE!
Colongra Bay Community Cafe
Our community lunches are held 1st Thursday of the month in May, July September and December.
Free Items for Newborns to 16 years
Everything for kids 0 to 16 free of cost. We provide cots, prams, clothing, and emergency supplies.
Homeless Outreach Service
We support numerous Homeless service providers throughout Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney.
Emergency Food Relief
Now supporting over 50 people with FREE emergency food relief packs every week, ask us how we can help you.
Foodbank
Manage weekly Foodbank deliveries in Wangi to Fennel Bay, Mannering Park, Blue Haven to Hamlyn Terrace and Gwandalan/Summerland Point.
